So, my absence from Far Beyond Neverland was longer than intended. Finals went…alrightish. Since then, I’ve been busy with other things, like moving and job hunting. I’ll be living and going to school in Oklahoma now, and might be getting a job soon (fingers crossed). Things are looking up for my daily life, so far. So, now, I can get back with FBN, and all the wild and crazy fun that goes along with it.
I’m working my way through Way of Kings, by Brandon Sanderson, bit by bit. I’m also reading this lovely steampunk novella by Kady Cross, The Strange Case of Finley Jayne. When I finish it, I’ll post a review. Speaking of reviews, FBN needs more of them, don’t you think? I can’t promise something too frequent just yet, but I will aim for (at least) one to two a month for now. I saw “for now” because Camp NaNoWriMo is approaching, and I will be rewriting something from last year.
And, in regards to writing, PreCrisis will be continuing soon. It will resume it’s normally planned schedule of being updated on Fridays. In addition, there may be another serial joining FBN in the near future. Please, feel free to offer feedback on anything, constructive criticism can only help. ^_^
You’ve probably noticed it’s been pretty quiet around Far Beyond Neverland this past week. Well, that’s because my school let out for spring break. Late in the semester to happen, I know, but blame my school being stupid. Anyway, yeah, spring break happened, and I said “fuck everything *lazeabout*”. So, no writing prompt or PreCrisis chapter last week. I didn’t even do any homework last week. I have a paper due next week for one English class, a final to do for another class, and a ten page paper for my psychology class that’s due in about three weeks. So, I’ll be a little busy a while. Possibly too busy to work on PreCrisis until after finals, which should be after the first week of May. So, just a bit of a heads up. It’s going to be fairly quiet for a little bit longer, even if I do have loads to say. Just don’t have the time right now.
My goal this month is to reach 150,000 words with my 2011 NaNo draft (currently titled Dancing on Eventide Wind, might change it again). Right now, I have 7,800 words. So, quite a bit to do between now and the 28th. But, it will be very worth it, I’m sure. And, I have an excuse with my family now – I’m working on my Creative Writing final project.Mwahahaha!
Been a fair bit busy with school, so I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to do anything with FBN. I am working on something I hope will be a weekly thing around here, while juggling 12 credit hours and planning a D&D campaign I’ll be running from this upcoming Friday onward. Hopefully I can get myself a tad more disciplined and get ahead on some of this work. Fingers crossed!
I’ve never done it before. Wild, right? But, I recently found something cool on another blog. Chuck Wendig, of Terrible Minds, made a post recently that seems pretty cool. Go to here: http://bighugelabs.com/random.php and you’ll have six random photos from flickr. Pick three, and write a thousand words of something involving the three photos you picked. I’m quite tempted to try this, and I just might. Well, I will as soon as I’m finished with some schoolwork that I actually should be working on write now.
New blog, yay! So, I’ve started the new semester at school, and things seem promising. Have three English courses and a psychology course. Hopefully this time I can get myself buckled down and actually study and do well. Fingers crossed, and all that.
